Children's Consignment Sales

This is my first post to my blog! Since it's time for the fall/winter consignment sales to start in Cullman, I thought this would be an appropriate topic for my first post. If you have children, one great way to save money is by selling the clothes they have outgrown in a consignment sale, and buying them more. Hopefully by doing this, you will break even and not have to spend any money on their "new" clothes. I have an 8 month old, so I did this at the spring/summer sale, and I loved it! There are so many barely worn name brand clothes at these sales. You would really be surprised. The prices are very cheap, which is the most important part to me. There are several upcoming sales in the Cullman area. If you do not live in Cullman, maybe your city has these types of sales too. I have listed some of the sales below. There may be more, but these are the ones I am familiar with.

This is the first year for this sale, so I do not have any personal experience with it yet, but I am trying it out! The main advantage to this sale is that there is NO FEE to consign! You will receive 75% of your sales. If you decide to consign, mention my name (Shanda Shaw) when you register. The person who refers the most people will receive a $25 shopping credit. Thanks!

You receive 75% of your sales. I am not sure if there is a fee to consign at this sale. I couldn't find that information on their website. I was able to find my daughter's Easter dress at their last sale. I had just looked at the same dress at Belk the week before. It was a white smocked dress, and I got it for $8! This is a more upscale sale. They only accept boutique and name brand clothing. This is a great sale for church clothes and dress clothes. The prices are a little higher than other sales, but the clothes are nicer too.

I LOVE this sale! I bought my daughter's matching stroller & car seat with extra base at this sale before she was born for $75! I had picked out the same exact set at Babies R Us, and was able to get it for a fraction of the retail cost. I also remember buying a pair of Children's Place blue jean shorts for her at the spring/summer sale for $1! They have very nice clothes at this sale, as well as many big ticket items. This has been my favorite sale so far.

You will receive 70% of your total sales minus a ten dollar participation fee that helps defray the cost of postage, advertising, rental, etc.

This is the oldest sale in Cullman that I am aware of. It is also the biggest sale. They have tons of clothes, but they definitely have the most big ticket items of any of the sales. If you are looking for a car seat, high chair, stroller, play yard, toy, activity center, etc., then this is the place to find it.
